Mainframe for iPhone

Mainframe does not collect any data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Everything you make in the app (photos, videos, sounds, screenshots, palettes, projects, locations, notes and boards) is saved in your own iCloud Drive, or only on your iPhone if iCloud is off. FRAMES never receives it.

Permissions. The camera is used to capture photos and clips and to sample colors live. The microphone records sound effects, voice notes and video sound. Photos access lets you import pictures, find your screenshots and save exported boards. Location pins scouting spots and tags palettes with where they were made. Each is used only when you use that feature, and can be turned off in iPhone Settings.

Weather. When you add a location or refresh its forecast, the app sends that spot’s coordinates (and nothing else) to Open-Meteo to get the weather. Place names come from Apple Maps. No account or identifier is attached to either request.

Share extension. “Save to Mainframe” only copies the items you choose into the app.

Mainframe for Mac

The Mac app keeps your vault in a folder on your Mac (or your iCloud Drive). It does not send your files or usage anywhere. The editor panels for DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro only talk to those apps on your own computer.

Accounts. If you make an account, the site stores your username, a salted password hash (never the password itself), your sign-in session and your game progress and items.

Waitlists and submissions. If you join a waitlist or submit work, we keep what you enter (such as your email, name, handle and link) to contact you about it. Waitlist sign-ups also store the IP address they came from, to stop spam.

Visit stats. The site counts page views with the page, referring site, country, device type and a random visitor ID. No cookies are used for this and nothing is shared with advertisers.

Purchases. Plugin checkout happens on Payhip, under their privacy policy. FRAMES never sees your card details.

The site runs on Cloudflare. FRAMES does not sell or share personal data.

Your choices

To see, change or delete anything FRAMES holds about you, email contact@frames.llc. Data in the apps is yours to delete at any time from the app, iCloud Drive or Files.

Mainframe is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
