Reactive chromatic aberration.

RGB fringing builds up toward the edges while the center stays sharp. Link it to the flashes and it spikes on every hit, with an optional edge warp for a lens-distortion feel.

Luma key & luma transition.

Darken shadows or highlights, or keep the flashes to one part of the image. Keyframe the Luma Transition to let your shot sink into darkness, from the shadows up or the highlights down.
